We have a mimosa under our modem. What is its use? Our ISP installed it.

You don’t say what type of internet connection you have but..

mimosa wireless backhaul is a wireless networking backhaul company. I suspect that the mimosa box you see next to your router is the Power injector that combines data from your router and DC power into a single run of ethernet cable that then runs to a roof top wifi antenna.

That antenna will provide a wifi link back to your ISPs antenna and then on to the internet.
